Orientation Year 4

The Year 4 Orientation Programme this year aimed to provide a platform for the pupils to work together in order to foster stronger class spirit and promote team building.

- The "Sandcastle Building" activity provided opportunities for students to experience elements of leadership through an outdoor simulation experience.
-The "Relief Mural Painting" Activity allowed students to create a sense of identity, belonging, pride and ownership with the school after their creation is used to decorate the school hall

"Sandcastle Building" on 2 and 3 Jan 08
Students were given a scenario to plan for a ¡°Dunman High 2038 Campus¡± and build their structures using sand, seawater and beachworks tools. The planning exercise stretched the imaginations of students who produced creative plans and visions of a future DHS Campus. Student leaders put forth their leadership skills to motivate fellow team-mates and coordinate the building of the sand castle structures.

Year 4 students put up a great variety of structures with commendable teamwork and enthusiasm.

"Relief Mural Painting" on 4 Jan 08

The theme of the project was "Soaring" using French Expressionist artist Henri Matisse¡¯s works as an inspiration. Respective classes had to plan a design on boards and were issued art materials to work on their mural painting artwork as a class. At the end of the day, all classes had to put up presentation to explain and interpret how their artwork depicts the theme.

Judging from the vibrant and lively artworks from all classes in the Level, Year 4 students truly demonstrated their inherent artistic and creative talents despite the fact that few are receiving formal art training.
